CREATIVE DAY CAMPS FOR THE CURIOUS AND DIGITAL ARTS ENTHUSIASTS!

Holidays are a time for discoveries, a time to try out and develop new passions! It’s in this spirit that our day camps are back this year!

This summer 2019, come discover our SAT-flavoured program and familiarize yourself with different aspects of technological arts! Led by professional artists, summer at the SAT will be eventful from July 8 to August 16, 2019 with two camps for ages 9 to 12, and four camps for ages 13 to 17! These creative and inspiring camps are made up of over 30 hours of dynamic and exciting workshops: enough to satisfy experienced enthusiasts, and teach the basics to aspiring artists!

Our two most popular camps are back this summer: audio production and DJing, and film creation for the web! New this year, participate in the creation of a digital installation that will have the chance to be exhibited at the SAT for the summer! And for the first time in the history of the SAT, you’ll have the opportunity to see your 3D creations projected in the dome of the Satosphère during the 3D creation camp.

For each camp, the projects created during the week will be presented to parents and friends on the last day!

SOUND PRODUCTION AND DJING

Come compose your own audio sequences and discover how to put together a performance (DJ set) by using mixing techniques from different musical styles. With the help of tools and professional software you will be able to discover how to create rhythms and melodies, record your own sounds and add audio effects to your compositions.

WEB FILM CAMP

Come explore the art of video creation! This camp is the perfect occasion to learn about the techniques of video editing, stop-motion animation, special effects on green screen, as well as capturing and sound recording! Join our little production studio, create a film as a team, participate in the writing of a scenario and discover different careers related to video creation: actor, lighting designer, camera operator, sound recorder, screenwriter, director, cinematographer.

3D CREATION CAMP - MODELLING AND ANIMATION

If you want to create a personal digital art project and get introduced to 3D and 360°, this camp is for you. You’ll not only learn about modelling and 3D animation using Blender software, but you’ll also have the chance to integrate your creation into Unity software to project it in the Satosphère to see it in 360° (the 360° dome of the SAT is kind of like a planetarium, but to project artistic creations)!

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Group size: 10 participants;
Led by professionals experienced in both their artistic field and educational activities;
30 hours of artistic activities per week;
Presentation in front of parents and friends on the last day of camp;
Material provided;
Camp offered in French;
Welcome 30 mins before and after daily camp hours;
Microwave and fridge available;
Accessible location, in the heart of downtown Montreal (car, bike, public transit);
Modern space, at the heart of Montreal’s digital creation;
Private outdoor terrace for lunch;
Tax credit: eligible for the tax credit for artistic activities for ages 16 and under (details).

CANCELLATION POLICY

Please contact us at CAMPUS SAT – JEUNESSE for any registration cancellation requests, no later than 3 weeks before the start of camp to allow us to open up the spot for another child. The $20 fee to open a file included in the registration cost, as well as the $10 service fee for online registration, are non-refundable.
