dBridge, aka Darren White, has been traversing the drum and bass scene since the early ’90s, perhaps most memorably spearheading the group Bad Company alongside Dj Maldini, Fresh and Vegas. But Darren’s musical interest is far more unconventional and far-reaching than we might expect. Since founding Exit Records in 2003, Darren has demonstrated a clear desire to move away from typical club style drum and bass sounds to more ambient and experimental soundscapes, turning away from the contemporary technology that dominates production today and returning to old school techniques, equipment and production styles.
Erika dreams on the cellular level, or perhaps of transdimensional intelligences moving through strange patterns on celestial objects. Her approach to music is simultaneously so solid and yet so ethereal. Erika still accomplish many things in her waking hours, such as being a member of Ectomorph and Circle of Live, co-conspirator of Interdimensional Transmissions record label, DJing and making music with her pet machines. She has become an electronic musician of the highest order, focusing on analog synthesis, with live hardware sequencing that allows transformation over time and a deep depth of tone.
Peder Mannerfelt splits the difference between playful immediacy and daring experimentation. You’re as likely to find him premiering a show at Berlin’s Atonal festival as pulling apart fabled techno meccas from Berghain to Fabric with synapse-frying precision. One minute he’s being asked to remix Björk, and the next he’s dropping EPs of non-conformist techno for the Voam label. As a producer, he’s worked on every one of Fever Ray’s acclaimed albums, as well as projects from alt music heavyweights such as Smerz, Blonde Redhead and Glasser. Mannerfelt thrives on the energy of club music as he pushes the music’s possibilities in wild, unpredictable directions.
Having found love for the Montréal DIY rave community, Jade (They/He) developed a hyper-fixation for Djing. Obsessed with digging tracks then superposing and blending them on the decks, Jade is motivated by the desire of understanding the movements of energy within dancefloors and curating spontaneous but thought of sound landscapes. Focusing mainly on the percussive complexity of techno and bass music, they seek to channel their energy in the purest form possible. Getting inspired everyday by their peers and seeking to constantly learn new ways to reinvent and morph their own style.
