About Accès
Asie
Festival Accès Asie or Montreal Asian Heritage Festival was created in
1995. It was founded by artists and its mission is to present multidisciplinary
works from dance, comedy, drama, video, film, visual arts, music, artistic scenes,
and new media. The festival presents the work of artists who express themselves
in different styles, whether sacred or profane, ancient or modern, classic or
contemporary. Each year Accès Asie organizes in Montreal, four events
of multidisciplinary activities that consist of works by Asian Canadian artists.
The festival takes place each year during the month of May which is Asian Heritage
Month. ASI is one of the Festival’s activities that features youth.
About the
Contest
Life is made of a multitude of lines that cross each other. We live in a world
where cultural identities are all mixed up. Crossroad is an encounter. Whether
it is a video portrait, an audiovisual poem, a work of fiction, a type of animation,
an artistic or philosophical attempt, an experimental video or simply a documentary,
every form is appropriate for expressing this view. Prizes will be awarded by
a jury to the most outstanding productions.
Send your creations
on Mini DV format. The creations should be made after January 2005, should not
exceed 5 minutes, and should be based on the theme ‘Crossroad’.
A digital image
section is added to this year event. This section is opened to photographers,
illustrators and digital artists.
