VOLUME 2 MTL: ART AND THE BOOK, this second edition of Montreal’s newest arts festival, will showcase talents and legends in artists’ books from around the world. This uniquely bilingual international art book fair and conference is exploding after laying down roots in Montreal’s art publishing and artist’s book community in 2018 during Volume 1.
This year’s theme of Collaboration informs its programming with a plethora of presentations, workshops, performances, exhibits, artists’ talks, symposium and activities bringing together artists from around the world, culminating in a two-day free art book fair presenting over eighty exhibitors. New to Volume is a special programme of experimental music and sound art, featuring live broadcasting of n10as streaming radio during the art book fair at SAT and two evenings of performances in the Mile End and Mile Ex.

ABOUT VOLUME MONTREAL
Responding to the expanding global network of art book fairs, Volume MTL was created to fill a gap in Montreal’s arts scene. The need for a major annual gathering along the lines of the pioneering New York Art Book Fair has been discussed among those in the local arts milieu for years. Drawing from the success of ARCMTL’s annual small press and zine fair, Expozine and its Grande print and poster art fair, Volume focuses on the distinct world of art book publishing.
