Back this November 27th with an ambient programme, EAF presents: Treglia, Jiyoung Wi, Keru Not Ever, and IRL.
Powerful drones washing over the room, warm textural sounds wrapping around you, a post-classical digital maestro and an anti-virtuoso violinist clashing: the night is promising a wide spectrum of ambient music. Hair-raising noise, advanced modular synth works, tear-jerking string works, and psychoacoustic ear candy all come together to tug on your brainstrings.
Trevor Treglia is a New York–based composer and synthesist whose work is concerned with long durations, experimental tuning, and the perceptual and emotional aspects of timbre and harmony, realized through installation, performance, and concert music. Using modified instruments, electronics, and complex just-intonation tuning schemes, his work emphasizes subtle manipulations of pitch and texture that produce unique psychoacoustic phenomena.
Jiyoung Wi is a musician/improviser and fiction writer floating between Rotterdam and Seoul. Her polarized practice explores narrative possibilities in non-image-based mediums. She has developed a series of “sound fiction” works focusing on the tentative reciprocity between sound and text. As a self-punitive improviser, through her negative virtuosity and risk-taking gestures, she confronts the thresholds of sonic immediacy. She has performed at venues such as Volksbühne (DE), Cafe OTO (UK), Columbia University (US), Les Siestes Festival (FR), The Grey Space in the Middle (NL), AN(8)X Festival (DE) and The Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp (BE).
Keru Not Ever is a composer and sound artist based in Montreal. His work explores different ways of bringing the specters of aesthetic history to life through repetition, resonance, and melodies. He has released three albums with the record label Infinite Machine (MX): Tereza (2017), The Wind of? (2019), and Mezzanine (2024). He is also a member, along with Racine, of the duo Corporation, whose second album, Tableaux du doute (Danse Noire, 2025), will be released this year.
IRL is a sound artist, producer, and DJ whose practice uses waveforms to explore memory, body, and space. Working with hardware and modular synthesis, they craft music that balances raw texture with emotional depth. Their trance-inducing sets weave ambient drone, big bass, and looping melodies into immersive soundscapes that invite reflection and transformation. Beyond performance, IRL co-produced two seasons of the podcast A Kind of Harmony and hosts Heart Full, a monthly radio show on n10.as. Their releases span labels including SURF (LX), Psychic Liberation (BE), Kapha Selections (NYC), Personal Records (MTL), and Interzone (MTL).
