GIOTTO

A Middle Eastern artistic practitioner ( half Syrian, half Palestinian), GIOTTO grew up in Kuwait. He has transitioned through many mediums throughout his career, starting off as a painter and muralist. When he moved to Montreal, he was introduced to the concept of visual arts in the nightlife, without knowing what a VJ was. Today, he creates programmed distortion using video samples, attempting to create a connection with the viewer amid all the distortions and bit-crushing. He has found himself increasingly dabbling in interactive works, using cameras and sensors to immerse viewers in the world of distortions and glitches he creates.
