After releasing records on some of the most renowned labels of the European electronic scene with remarkable consistency, dedication, and rigor, December’s discography has been widely acclaimed by the global electronic community. For the past three years, he has also been collaborating closely with photographer Marie Quéau, with whom he created two audiovisual works, including an AV live show that premiered at Festival Le Bon Air in Marseille in 2022, followed by a tour. In 2024, he began a collaboration with filmmaker Camille Degeye, composing the music for her debut feature film. In 2025, his third album will be released on the Amman-based Jordanian label Drowned by Locals — a record where melancholy intertwines with repetitive, deconstructed mechanics. For this very special live performance at the SAT, he will explore ambient and ethereal soundscapes akin to the music he is currently composing for cinema.
Equally at ease building unearthly soundscapes than crafting serpentine rhythmical tracks, Sébastien Forrester has always had a recurring obsession with idiosyncratic sounds. Formerly known as Holy Strays (acclaimed by the likes of Pitchfork, the Fader, Fact, Dazed, Les Inrocks), the Franco-British percussionist and sound artist started releasing music early on and has put out records on renowned labels such as Superpang, Promesses, Forest Swords’ Dense Truth imprint and Not Not Fun Records, bringing to life the crossroads of experimental drumming, ceremonial atmospherics and eruptive sound design. Sébastien Forrester has been selected as part of SHAPE+, the main European platform for innovative music and audiovisual art, for the year 2023-2024, and some of his recent collaborations include Brodinski, Kukii (fka Lafawndah), Slikback, Coby Sey and Alpha Maid, among others.
