Doors open
at 7:30pm/show starts at 8:30pm – $10 in presale/$12 the day of the competition
For the first time of its
young existence, the Ligue d’improvisation Hip Hop du Québec (LIHQ) is
out to offer an unforgettable evening to the fans that will show up at SAT,
on Sunday, September 11.
The grand finale
of the season will oppose the two best teams in the ranks. Team Evidence
(2nd in the rankings), formed by rappers Loe Pesci and Maybe
Watson and b-boys Dingo and Rock-it,
will play against Team DrunknMunky (1st overall), with rappers
Butta Beats, Le Körbô, Oktofoot
and Thunder Blast. The match will be divided in two periods,
which will feature new and fun games. More than ever, the crowd will be asked
for its participation.
Faithful to its
mandate of featuring special performances from artists of various horizons,
the LIHQ will not only offer the ultimate championship match everyone is waiting
for, but also matches between emerging artists who will audition for next season.
As this wasn’t enough, Kulcha Connection will be in the house
to cheer things up even more. The duo is back in Montreal after touring Europe
with much success over the past few years. They will play during the intermission,
so do not go out!
Tickets are sold in presale
at a cost of $10 at several locations and on the Admission Network. On the day
of the finale, tickets will be only $12!
The Ligue d’improvisation
Hip Hop du Québec is an original concept that blends theatre improvisation
and “battles” between rappers ans dancers, as seen in the movie 8
Mile. Founded in 2003, the birth of the LIHQ resulted from 18 months of hard
labour in elaborating this unique (unique in the world!) combination of cultural
means that resonate with the youth and hail to a new generation.
The first season of the
LIHQ started in December 2004. In average, more than 500 people attended each
competition. The shows are co-produced with the SAT. For the finale, MusiquePlus
joins as official presenter.
