The
Ligue d’improvisation Hip Hop du Québec promises to offer an amazing
show with the very first semi-finals of its young existence. An unprecedented
event not to be missed at SAT, which is also co-producer.
During
this very intense evening, two semi-final matches will be presented and they
will oppose the four participating teams of the 2004-2005 season. For starters,
team Phat Farm (3rd in the rankings), formed by rappers Therapyst
and Funky Chef and b.boys As.Yan and Soul Step, will play against team
Evidence (2nd in the rankings), which includes rappers Loe Pesci and
Maybe Watson and b.boys Dingo and Rock-It. In the second portion of the evening,
team DrunknMunky (1st overall), with Butta Beats, Le Körbo,
Oktofoot and Thunder Blast, will be opposed to team Off The Hook
(4th in the rankings) led by their captain Dr. Step and his associates Slutwon,
Meta4ce and Flash.
The
victorious teams of these two games will then face off at the LIHQ’s championship,
to take place at the end of the summer.
Also,
the spectators will be treated to special performances by Sans Pression
(SP) and DJ Skratch Bastid. Emblematic figure of Quebec’s
hip hop world, Sans Pression will perform some of their greatest hits and news
songs as well. DJ Skratch Bastid is a three-time winner of the DJ DMC contest
in Halifax. Based in Montreal for a year now, he has since given shows in numerous
Canadian cities. He was an opening act for Nas in Montreal last December. Lastly,
visual artist Axe will make live painting throughout the evening.
The
