7pm – free
Legendary DJ Robert
de la Gauthier has a 24-year experience as DJ. Born in Montreal, he
started DJing in the 80s when he was 16. It soon became his great passion and
still is.
Robert is very
versatile. He can play many different genres of music, for crowds as diverse.
A renowned trendsetter,
Robert does a lot of musical researches and has often investigated musical movements.
He was one of the first, for example, to play house music in Montreal’s clubs.
He always managed to integrate his new interests in a sublte way that wouldn’t
scare the crowds he was playing for. On the contrary, his fans followed him
through the years and were extremely pleased when Robert came back a few months
ago for a decade-long journey in Europe.
You can see and
hear Robert de la Gauthier for free at SAT next April 7 as part of the [mix_sessions].
He will give a preview of his upcoming show on April 22, at SAT again, on the
occasion of Earth Day.
On April 7, Robert
will play along DJ Cyan and VJs Ladyroll and fluid.

DJ Cyan
Cyan’s sound was born with her fascination towards the interaction between
the human and the machine. She merges elements from the Swedish techno and Detroit
techno with house music and the new electro-retro style. From the cacophony
of the electronic music, the soul of the machine is liberated.
VJ Ladyroll
Partner to Joseph [aka jocool] Lefèvre for many years, she produced most
of her recent work in collaboration with him. Since 2001, she became active
in the VJ scene (live audiovisual mixing) and performs on a regular basis. She
has a fascination for video mixers and interacting with images. From her very
first live experience with Wetfish in 2001, she hasn’t stoped jamming.
“It’s the beat and the music that guide me”, she says. “The
images I mix are rhythm and substance. I can bring them to life in many different
ways”.
VJ fluid
Born in Genes, photographer, painter and video artist, fluid nowadays calls
Montreal home. After four years of globe-trotting around the world to present
his videos in international festivals, he is currently experimenting with the
role of VJ. He plays with raw video images and likes to improvise with live
musicians and other DJs.
