For this occasion, we are fortunate to welcome three essential artists from the electro scene, hailing from São Paulo and Mexico: Cashu, DJ Hermano, and Ultima Esuna, who will make you groove to sets joyfully blending techno, house, disco, and reggaeton. Cashu
Carolina Schutzer, aka DJ Cashu, is a vital figure in São Paulo's queer underground electronic music scene. She uses her platform to address pressing political issues. Cashu co-founded the Mamba Negra collective with Carneosso to decentralize the scene, creating inclusive spaces for diverse artists. They organize street events in abandoned locations like student and artist squats, transforming them into self-sustaining festivals that champion female representation and sexual and gender freedom. Cashu has performed globally, including at renowned venues like Berghain/Panorama Bar (Berlin), Rex Club (Paris), Basement (NYC), Dekmantel (Amsterdam), Sonár Festival (Barcelona)
Dj Hermano is originally from Brazil and now lives in Montreal. He is the creator of Íntimas, a traveling queer party in Bogotá. As a vinyl selector and collector, his passion for music has taken him across most of the continent, playing on the line-ups of major festivals, parties & clubs in the region and around the world. His vast musical collection and passion focus on Disco, but his mixing style cannot be reduced to a single genre. Still influenced by his Brazilian roots, he incorporates editions from the 80s and 90s, as well as contemporary electronic music.
Ultima Esuna is a Montreal-based Mexican sound designer and music composer. Ultima Esuna's world is a fusion of lush, dreamy productions spanning across dembow, steady drums, alluring percussion, Latin elements, and smooth house sounds. Drawing inspiration from her Latin American heritage, her music seamlessly blends traditional danzón, folklore, and reggaeton. Ultima made her debut on the Nervous Horizon Vol. 4 compilation in 2020. Furthermore, her song "7 salidas" was premiered on Mixmag, cementing her status as an up-and-coming artist to watch in the music industry. Recently, Ultima collaborated with Vancouver-based band New Age Doom, along with Eli Irreal Veintiuno, to produce a remix for "Life is an Experiment." This track is featured on the album "Lee Scratch" Perry's Guide to the Universe," a project created by New Age Doom in collaboration with the legendary Lee Scratch Perry.
Marc-Olivier Comeau (Binocle) est un artiste multimédia se concentrant sur le pouvoir social des images. Comme VJ, cinéaste et concepteur nouveaux médias, son travail a été présenté dans de nombreux festivals tels que Igloofest et MUTEK. Son esthétisme oscillant entre réalisme et onirisme fait voyager le public et cherche à le faire réfléchir sur le monde qui l’entoure.
Jonah Haché is an Acadian visual and sound designer from Moncton, NB, currently based in Montreal. He has created projection visuals for theatre, live music, poetry events, film festivals, awards shows, and dance performances. Jonah began working with Dansencorps in 2016, initially composing music but soon transitioning to designing visuals for their touring show ‘Respire Par Le Nez’. He also directed and scored two dance films for the group: "Astri et Tari a l’ecole" in 2020 and "Resistance" in 2021. Recently, Jonah has been implementing cameras in his visuals that bring a whole new range of styles and accompaniments to various styles of performances.
