Marilyn Basbous is a roller dancer, founder and creative behind “Skate with Marly”. Currently, Marly and her team offer roller dance classes in Montréal to all skate enthusiasts and help them gain confidence grooving on quad skates. They also perform shows, host roller dance events, as well as skate bootcamps with key-players in the roller dance industry.

Walla P

For the past 12 years, Walla P stands behind Voyage Funktastique; a global brand that encompasses a monthly party, a radio show and a record label. Armed with a profound love of all things funky, Walla journeys effortlessly from boogie, disco, jazz, soul to modern funk. He has opened and played with Kaytranada, Pomo, Onra, Peanut Butter Wolf and DâM-FunK. He has performed at Boiler Room and at festivals such as Lost Village, Osheaga, Piknic Electronik, Igloofest, Festival d'Été de Québec, POP Montréal, NXNE, C2 Montréal, 24HOV, M For Montreal and the Montreal International Jazz Festival.

Félicité is a visual artist specializing in moving image, film and performance (VJ). For her, creating art means blending into one's environment through movement and music. She does this by deconstructing cultures and hierarchical genres, which is why she always works with nature and technology through innovative analog and digital composition techniques.

FAQ

I need more information on the timetable

Session 1 :

  • doors and skates collected: 1pm
  • introductory course: 1:40 pm
  • beginning of the session: 2pm
  • end: 4pm

Session 2:

  • doors and skates collected: 4pm
  • introductory course: 4:40 pm
  • beginning of the session: 5pm
  • end: 7pm

Please note that your reservation is valid for the session you have chosen only.

If you book for both sessions, you’ll have to go through the ticket scan again at the start of the second session (Espace SAT will be emptied in between).

What kind of skates can I bring?

  • Skates to be brought in must be “quad” or 4-wheeled.
  • In-line skates will be refused for safety reasons.

I don't have any skates, what can I do?

Two options:

  • Pre-book your skates when you buy your tickets (quantities are limited), our partner Jay’s roller will bring them to you and payment will be due on the day
  • Rent them at Low Life (Rosemont) and bring them to the event!

**Please note that skates will not be available on site without prior reservation via the box office.

I've never roller danced, is that a problem?

No !

Marly will be holding an introductory class at the beginning of each period, plan to arrive early to make sure you don’t miss out.

Can I have access if I'm under 18 or if I want to bring my children?

This event is reserved for those 18 and over.
