The SAT 3.0
The 2009 year marks a pivotal juncture for the SAT as the renovations and enlargements of the space—
scheduled to begin June 2009—will allow the SAT team to infuse more momentum into its
programming.
Once the structural work is completed, the SAT will introduce both new and improved spaces for all:
larger and better-equipped studios for artists in residence, an expanded SAT[exposition] for the
presentation simultaneous works, a showcase for researchers and programmers, extended classrooms to
better adapt to various SAT[Transform] training programs, and a rooftop terrace/restaurant for budding
chefs.
In addition to these improvements, the “Sensorium”, a veritable “pièce de résistance”, will be unveiled:
a 6000-square-foot room dedicated to the presentation of original immersive environments and
transdisciplinary experimentations developed at the SAT including the SAT[osphère], the Panascope,
and the Cyclorama.
