Tim Reaper (East Londoner Ed Alloh) produces lush yet hard-hitting jungle and breakbeat hardcore tracks which measure up to the best of the genre's early- to mid-'90s heyday. During his DJ gigs and podcasts, he seamlessly mixes vintage obscurities and unreleased dubplates with tracks by himself as well as fellow jungle revivalists such as Dwarde and Kid Lib. Since making his debut in 2010, he's released dozens of EPs and singles on labels like Green Bay Wax. He established the Future Retro London label in 2020.
Physical Therapy, aka Daniel Fisher, is a Queens-based, New Jersey-born producer, DJ, and founder of the Allergy Season label. Fisher is known for his constantly shifting and abstracted take on club music, from bongo-infused techno to breakbeat science. Over 15 years, his dynamic DJ sets have earned him a cult following. Starting in NYC dive bars, he moved to Berlin in 2013, absorbing its electronic scene while retaining a 90s-inspired energy. Returning to New York in 2018, he became a resident at Nowadays. With over 35 releases under multiple aliases, his work stands out for its humor and dance floor appeal.
One of North America’s finest artists and DJs, the Montreal-based artist draws from a long history of raucous and debauched club music styles, from house and ghettotech to grime and R&B, often narrating his (and other’s) tracks as only he can. As well as Local Action / 2 B REAL, he’s recently released on Future Classic and LuckyMe, and collaborated - as a producer, vocalist and live visual artist - with the likes of Sinjin Hawke, Jacques Greene and The Blessed Madonna.
Academic weapon by day and dancefloor menace in her free time, C Lia’s (she/her) quest for knowledge through DJ-ing is set between self-discovery and a desire for connection with the world around her. Her colourful sound is recognizable as an assemblage of percussive cross-genre experiments mended by bass-laden grooves and diasporically-inspired rhythms. Sensitive yet incisive, methodic yet intuitively driven, she accompanies listeners and dancers alike in sets built to align body and mind through movement.
EKITWANDA is a queer Congolese multidisciplinary artist and DJ based in Montreal. Starting her journey as a painter, she expanded into tattoo art and now curates genre-defying DJ sets influenced by Pan-Africanism. Blending styles like Techno, Gqom, Hyperpop, and Trap, her music transcends boundaries, creating immersive soundscapes. She also co-hosts Aft3rwe4r Live, an online radio show streaming on YouTube, where she showcases cutting-edge global music.
Co-operator and representative of ACTING PRESS, a project engineering audiovisual works since 2015. AP is home to solo [PLO’] and collaborative music [with C3D-E, INTe*ra, Globex, CC Not]. In-game DJ experience [Europe, N.A, Asia, Oceania]: ballpark 15 years. Currently based in Berlin. One-time host of PLO Radio, aired on the now defunct Berlin Community Radio from 2013 – 2019. Transmission has since come by way of Lot Radio, Refuge Worldwide, Rinse.fm, IDA, NTS, etc. For DJ recordings, kindly refer to sessions archived and distributed on tape [most recently Cav Empt, CESAR35, CESAR08], CD [ACTING PRESS, Terraforma].
The Philadelphia selector, DJ and transcendental futuristic musical warrior of the nite is fearless & maverick in his efforts to thoroughly explore all genres of electronic music without bounds; to turn these “transcendental futuristic sounds" into inclusive music that everyone understands together with the theory. In practice, during any of his sessions, your feet, your pulse and your body, mind and spirit perfectly align and appreciate that electronic music is music conceived and created to enjoy and at that point futuristic musical transcendence is achieved !!!
breakcheck is a Montreal based producer/DJ. Their style fuses an eclectic selection of house, techno, electro, disco and beyond, with a special focus on the interplay between space and groove. More typically a studio rat, they’ve recently matured into a force behind the decks, weaving sonic tapestry at venues across the city from their ever growing collection of wax. Expect a winding beginning to the new year as they join forces with Bijou veteran Liv K and bridge the cryptic, loopy hi jinx of Acting Press boss PLO Man through to a warm finale.
Liv K. aka okleave (they/them) plays with their heart first and their head second. For them, every set is an experiment in feeling, an attempt to find the horizon line where dj soul and dancer body might meet. As a co-founder of Bijou, ‘a party for the freaks and the queers,’ Liv helps to bring a sexy, sensitive freakquency to the DIY dancefloors of MTL’s vibrant dance music scene.
In 2006, Melesul3 (Jérôme LeBel) began injecting his visual touch into Montréal's electronic music scene. His style moves between retro neon and minimal glitch. The rhythm and energy of his visuals are in symbiosis with the artist he supports. Since 2013, he explores the Satosphere at the Société des arts technologique with immersive visuals.
Daytime multimedia art director and nighttime VJ, Jocelyn Leduc - aka VJ HEX8 - is a digital artist known for creating visual atmospheres at numerous large-scale events. He has collaborated with many festivals on designing outdoor video mapping projects, including the Quartier des Spectacles, the Lumifest in Longueuil, the Just for Laughs festival, the Shanghai Fashion Week and Fierté Montréal. Juxtaposing the abstract with the naive, his projects often take the form of dadaist-inspired video collages. His eclectic mix of analog textures and archival footage visually transports the audience to another universe for the duration of an evening.
