DJ Aikido + guests
For this
event we were inspired by the Roma people, also known as Tsiganis, Bohemians
or Gypsies, and by their love of freedom. We are happy to invite you to come
and celebrate to the sounds of a remix of their music and to the sight of their
best movie moments.
They set out
yesterday, the tribe of ragged seers
With burning eyes — bearing their little ones in nests
Upon their backs, or giving them, to stop their tears,
The teats of inexhaustible and swarthy breasts.
The men walk
shouldering their rifles silently
Beside the hooded wagons with bright tatters hung,
And peer into the sky, as if they hoped to see
Some old mirage that beckoned them when they were young.

VJ jocool
Coordinator and co-founder with VJ pillow of the [mix_sessions] at SAT. As an
artist he concentrates in new media installations and immersive environments.
He plays visuals with local and international artists for specific performances
and events. His style is colored, figurative but poetic. He merges, superposes
and tweaks his images and turns them into loops and collages according to the
music and the public reaction. The end result is surprising and inventive. It
leaves us wanting more.
VJ Ladyroll
Partner to Joseph [aka jocool] Lefèvre for many years, she produced most
of her recent work in collaboration with him. Since 2001, she became active
in the VJ scene (live audiovisual mixing) and performs on a regular basis. She
has a fascination for video mixers and interacting with images. From her very
first live experience with Wetfish in 2001, she hasn’t stopped jamming.
“It’s the beat and the music that guide me”, she says. “The
images I mix are rhythm and substance. I can bring them to life in many different
ways”.
DJ Aikido
The sense of Aikido :
(AI) Harmony, together – harmonie, ensemble
(KI) Spirit, energy and creativity- l’énergie vitale et créatrice
(DO) The way, the mouvement – La manière, le mouvement
Melody is very important
for Aikido’s inspiration. He mixes rythms and various electronic music
influences according to his impressions of the moment. He blends styles ranging
from house, progressive trance, tech house, drum’n’bass and even
world beat to create stories and insert subliminal electronic messages.
