Martin Rodriguez
Tune In / Tune Out
Using unconventional performance techniques, Martín Rodríguez explores resonance in combination with transducers and his electric guitar to expose the rhythms, harmonies, and melodies that are found in the cracks of the radio spectrum, creating emotive soundscapes which are living, listening, and engaging in the present.
Inspired by autobiographical experiences, his work seeks to explore a narrative through the juxtaposition of sound with physical objects to create meaningful statements that resonate around identity, race, diversity and exclusion. He has performed in Berlin, New York, Detroit, Boston, New Brunswick, Calgary, Toronto, Saskatoon, and Montreal.
