A speculative tale about the gravity of the ecological crisis
Terra Flecta is the new immersive work by the trio mesocosm . This performance invites the public to explore the flora and fauna of extraterrestrial environments constructed from photogrammetric and sonic samples of contaminated sites in Quebec. These audiovisual speculations are accompanied by music reminiscent of science-fiction film; ideas on the possible environmental transformations in a near future.

Montréal trio mesocosm, collaboration between videographer Emma Forgues and musicians Philippe Vandal andJoël Lavoie, sets out to explore autonomous ecosystem loosely constructed from a blend of modular syntheses, field recordings, evocative computer-generated elements and live video manipulation. Orchestrated from this universe’s erratic and unpredictable soundscape reminiscent of glitch, noise, ambient and electroacoustics, a new reality will emerge, tertering on the edge of chaos and harmony, a veritable symbiosis between the synthetic and the organic.
