Saturday August 9, the the Peace Parc and the SAT receive the Under Pressure Graffiti Convention. With graffiti artists, DJs, a break dance battle, a skate competition and a Canadian hip hop showcase, it’s going to be one hell of a party!
Once again, Under Pressure will place the spotlight on graffiti art, putting over 100 graffiti artists into action and on display in the shadow of the city’s new anti-graffiti campaign. The purpose of Under Pressure has always been to educate the public, the police, and city officials. It’s not meant to tell people whether to love graffiti or to hate it, but merely provides an accessible space for people to watch this usually veiled activity take place and then draw their own conclusions. Under Pressure is a community event; a day of summer fun when people of all ages can come out, enjoy the friendly atmosphere, listen to some music, and watch the spectacle.
