A brand new pilot program launched by the SAT in its café, La Station is your digital arts meet-up to stimulate your curiosity and creativity, meet creatives from your community, and learn all kinds of new things in an unconventional way to develop your creative career. Think outside the box, experiment, share, discover and connect with activities customized for your busy life.
What is it?
Different formats of short and spontaneous sessions, in a warm atmosphere of sharing, to expand your projects, pique your curiosity, create new collaborations and facilitate the development of your career. All for free!
The creative community is extremely rich in Montreal, and what enriches La Station is you. Your creativity, curiosity, and talents are extremely fruitful and deserve a platform — a platform to share, exchange, and support one another as a community, to reach new heights. La Station is the pathway...you are the journey and the destination.

How to take part in meet-ups at La Station?

ACTIVITIES THIS FALL
Do you have a personal project or challenge that you want to dedicate yourself to? Do you want to meet other creators in your field or are you curious to receive feedback from your community throughout the creative process? Studio Libre is a free creative session that gives you the chance to meet people with common interests, in a friendly environment, while making progress on a personal project! It’s your weekly meet-up to create and exchange in a warm, open and inspiring atmosphere. A bit like a creative club in your medium, it’s the meeting point between your creative projects and your community.
Music & Sound Art
Tuesdays, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (Oct. 15 to Dec. 17)
Do you compose, remix, sample, and create sound experiences? If your thing is music, sound, audio production, podcasts, sound creation, or anything related to sound, Studio Libre on Tuesday evenings is for you.

Saturdays, 10:00 AM to noon (Oct. 19 to Dec. 14)
Is image, still or moving, remixed or recorded, your passion? Creators in video, photo, VJing, mapping, editing, screenwriting, and other video and photo disciplines meet up to create at Studio Libre on Saturday mornings.

Do you have a digital arts project or learning challenge that you would like to solve, either from a technical or artistic point of view? Every last Saturday of the month, come ask an expert your questions and chat with other creators using the same techniques to share your knowledge and find solutions.

Come solve your issues related to electronics, microcontrollers, programming, robotics, or any other aspect of microcontrollers and interactivity with Patrice Coulombe.

About the expert : Jan Pienkowski
Jan Pienkowski will be present to answer your questions — he’s an expert on musical creation (traditional instruments, real or VST synthesizers, controllers, computer music creation software — Ableton Live, Reason, Audition) traditional and digital DJing (sampling techniques and audio cutting), effects, sound design (field recording, studio recording, sound and special effects creation), audio and corrective restoration, voice processing, mixing and final mastering. His other areas of expertise linked to sound creation are musical creation, mixing and mastering for music outside of the film industry, audio and music for music videos, dance music, acoustic and physical audio, sound installations and live performances.
Every 2nd Saturday of the month, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
You never stop having ideas and imagining new avenues. Come and whet your curiosity, stimulate your creativity and inspire yourself with these exciting sessions for sharing knowledge and ideas! The concept: prepare 3 to 5 minutes of a nugget of information you want to share, and then split into pairs to share in a rapid format. In the end, we leave with lots of new ideas to look into! It's like speed dating, but for stimulating creativity and intellect!
