Bioartist Brandon Ballengée (NYC) is seeking interns for a summer-long BioArt Laboratory installation at the SAT. Ballengée and his team will collaborate to explore the health and developmental deformities of local frogs and toads.

Bioartist Brandon Ballengée (NYC) is seeking interns for a summer-long BioArt Laboratory installation at the SAT. Ballengée and his team will collaborate to explore the health and developmental deformities of local frogs and toads. Quebec is considered an area of special research interest because local frog populations have been found with high frequencies of developmental deformities.

Experience not necessary and will train dedicated interns with the following;

  • Assist with working with preserved and living specimens
  • Help with maintenance (feeding, cleaning and monitoring) live tadpoles and other aquatic creature
  • Working on experimental imaging (video, scanning and digital photography) of native aquatic species such as tadpoles, fish and insect larvae.
  • The opportunity to participate in environmental field surveys and frog research (with the Redpath Museum & SAT)
  • Participate in EcoArt education activities with students K-12

Work 10-30 hours a week depending on availability- Flexible schedule
