The Metalab will present its work on collective interactivity and surveillance in immersive spaces, carried out in collaboration with EnsadLab, the art and design research laboratory of the École des arts décoratifs de Paris.
The two institutions have published a joint paper entitled “Immersive environments, video tracking and collective interactivity on smartphone: a generic `dispositif'”. The article aims at elaborating a scenario taxonomy able to make explicit some mechanisms of contemporary digital surveillance. The open source software Splash, SATIE and LivePose developed by SAT, as well as Mobilizing.js from EnsadLab, are used to illustrate the article’s thesis.
Emmanuel Durand, Michał Seta and Valentine Auphan from SAT, and Dominique Cunin from EnsadLab, will lead a workshop at the Maison de l’image on Friday, May 19, aiming to develop, as a group, a critical response to the surveillance society and interactive immersive creation using these tools. Durand, Seta and Cunin will present their paper on Saturday, May 20 at the Forum des images.
