Today, the Society for Arts and Technology (SAT) and the Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab (C-LAB), both leaders in the field of immersive domes in North America and Asia, signed a memorandum of understanding, thus launching a new era of creative and technological exchanges in the field of immersive audiovisual experiences. The signing ceremony took place under the SAT dome, with Jenny Thibault, Executive and Artistic Director of SAT, and PENG Chun-Heng, Chairperson of C-LAB and the Taiwan Living Arts Foundation, in attendance.
The Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab (C-LAB) was launched in 2018 by the Taiwan Living Arts Foundation of the Ministry of Culture, with the goal of becoming Taiwan’s leading site for contemporary culture and innovation. As a promising young institution, it is based on a forward-thinking vision for artistic experimentation, international exchanges, and the development of an imagination around Asian and Taiwanese experiences. Additionally, it serves as a physical incubation center for creative enterprises. C-LAB acts as a catalyst, fostering the interaction of diverse forms of creativity while promoting the development of an open and inclusive social environment.
The memorandum of understanding between the two institutions is a framework agreement that will foster dynamic cooperation in interdisciplinary research and creation, professional training in the cultural sector, and the production and distribution of new works. This collaboration will stimulate artistic ecosystems and their innovative power on both sides. C-LAB places great importance on a critical approach to technological development, a perspective that has been central to SAT’s work for nearly 30 years.
SAT is honored to have such a fruitful partnership with a partner of such exceptional quality!
