Immersive Film Festival

Deadline : October 22, 2025
Open: Jul 8, 2025

Created by the Society for Arts and Technology [SAT] in 2012 upon the inauguration of its immersive dome, the SAT Fest has become a major event for immersive cinema.

Over the years, the SAT Fest has accompanied the evolution of fulldome creation — an avant-garde and ever-evolving medium that blends digital design, visual arts, video games, VJing, live-coding and sound arts into new narrative forms.
The upcoming edition, which will take place from March 24 to 28 2026, will once again showcase emerging and established talents from the fulldome scene through a week-long program of immersive short films, previews, with the presence of local and international artists.

Awards & Prizes

Beyond the official selection, several awards will be attributed to the best film in the following categories:

  • Award of Excellence: Granted to a project that demonstrates outstanding mastery of the dome format—artistically, technically, aesthetically, and narratively.
  • Originality Award: Granted to a project that stands out for its boldness, quality, and originality in relation to the medium.
  • Innovation Award: Granted to a project that distinguishes itself through an innovative approach.
  • Narrative Work Award: Granted to a project recognized for the strength and clarity of its narrative approach.
  • Immersive Soundtrack Award: Granted to a project featuring a strong, creative, and well-adapted sound design for the immersive context.
  • Audience Award: Granted based on audience voting.
  • Jury’s Special Mention: A special recognition awarded by the jury.

Award-winning films will be included in the SAT’s programming following the festival, as well as in other partner venues and festivals. A screening fee will be awarded to the selected artists.

What we are looking for

From the outset, the SAT Fest has focused on experimentation, innovation, collaboration and artistic creativity. In this spirit, we are seeking short films that demonstrate both an interest in and a mastery of the immersive medium, while offering audiences a rich and original collective experience.

Certain categories, such as educational, scientific, corporate and youth films, are not the primary focus of this call for submissions. However, such works may still be considered by our jury if they align with the festival’s artistic vision.

Please note that the jury will base its selection on the received files. Therefore, we strongly recommend submitting only complete and finalized projects.

Submission deadline

Registrations for SAT Fest 2026 will be open from July 8 to October 22 2025.

Screening formats

  • Digital fulldome
  • Downloadable screener: 2048 x 2048 @ 30 FPS minimum
  • Selected projects will have to provide the festival a 4096×4096 image sequence @ 30 or 60 FPS. Please prepare this in advance.
  • Audio: Multichannel audio is recommended (5.1 or above)
