Towards a New Generation of Fulldome Films

Call for projects for producers of fulldome films

Date limite : May 15, 2026
Open: Mar 25, 2026

The SAT, Hubblo, and SODEC are joining forces to launch a call for projects to support the production of new audiovisual formats. This call is aimed at local producers for the development of an original fulldome film with strong commercial potential both in Quebec and internationally.

The main objective is to stimulate the production of Quebec fulldome films by identifying innovative and promising projects likely to have a significant impact on the market, both locally and globally.

As the demand for original immersive content continues to grow worldwide, this initiative supports the development of a new generation of fulldome creations capable of reaching a wide audience.

The selected project will benefit from:

  • A guaranteed minimum of CAD 50,000, including CAD 10,000 for promotion and distribution, from the immersive content distributor Hubblo:
  • A non-repayable grant of CAD 50,000 from the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC):
  • An in-kind contribution and services valued at CAD 50,000 provided by the Société des arts technologiques (SAT).

Eligibility Criteria

  • The call is open to all incorporated producers of Quebec content with significant experience in audiovisual production or digital arts.
  • Submitted projects must propose an original artistic creation, utilizing the fulldome medium as an immersive and sensory space.
  • Participants must present an original fulldome film concept with a duration of 40 to 60 minutes. The project must be unique, innovative, commercially viable, and achievable within a maximum of 18 months.
  • Producers must submit a balanced preliminary budget along with a funding structure.
  • Selected producers will be responsible for producing the film and completing the project financing, in addition to the investment from Hubblo, SODEC, and SAT.
    Please note that screening at the SAT makes producers eligible for a tax credit.
  • Selected producers are required to sign a co-production agreement with Hubblo and SAT, and to collaborate with the SAT and Hubblo teams on all aspects of production and artistic direction.

Proposal Format and Length

Participants must submit a detailed proposal including:

  • A synopsis of the film;
  • A storyboard or moodboard;
  • A statement of intent;
  • A production schedule;
  • A balanced budget;
  • An overview of the creative and production team;
  • Any relevant visual or conceptual material (moodboards, reference images, etc.).

The proposal must not exceed 25 pages.

Selection Process

All projects will be evaluated by a jury composed of:

  • Two representatives from Hubblo;
  • Two representatives from SODEC;
  • Two representatives from SAT.

Projects will be assessed according to the following criteria:

  • Originality of the concept;
  • Technical and financial feasibility;
  • Potential to attract and engage a broad audience;
  • Alignment with the aesthetics and language of fulldome cinema;
  • Potential for national and international distribution.

Hubblo, SODEC, and SAT reserve the right not to select any project if none of the submissions adequately meet the established criteria.
