RESEARCH-CREATION RESIDENCY PROGRAM IN ARTS & TECHNOLOGIES – 2026-28

Research-creation residency program

Date limite : October 18, 2026
Open: Aug 11, 2026

As part of the new Digital Hubs initiative of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ), the Society for Arts and Technology (SAT) is launching a new research-creation residency program. This program aims to offer artists a space for technological exploration and innovation, free from the constraints and pressure to deliver results that are typically associated with production residencies.

We will support three projects that will bring live arts and technological arts into dialogue around human movement. This program is open to non-profit organizations, collectives, and individual artists. It offers personalized support from the SAT teams over a two-month period, access to the facilities of the Society for Arts and Technology (SAT), as well as a $10,000 grant.

This program is intended for artists and collectives who wish to explore, experiment with, and develop an immersive artistic practice combining arts and technology, using cutting-edge or experimental technologies, without necessarily aiming to produce a finished work in the short term. We will help you select and learn how to use the technological tools relevant to your project, and understand their limitations and possibilities, in order to carry out a research-creation phase.
