To celebrate 20 years of fig55, 5 years of its sister company Hubblo, and 30 years of the SAT, Figure de style brings together a selection of their landmark immersive works from November 3 to 14.

An anniversary program with a retrospective feel, bringing together cinema, music, and visual arts.

From the words of Serge Bouchard and René Derouin to the voices of Roomful of Teeth and the sounds of the Arctic, these landmark works invite audiences to experience storytelling in a whole new way, through compelling narratives, bold artistic visions, and the unique possibilities of the fulldome format.

The program will culminate with Résonances boréales, a 360° immersive performance where Roman Zavada’s live piano compositions meet breathtaking images of the northern lights.

  • Rêveries d’un routier solitaire | Serge Bouchard’s voice accompanies breathtaking landscapes and his reflections on the land and its people | November 3 and 12 at 5:30 PM.

  • Territoires des Amériques | A journey through Quebec, Mexico, and the Far North, exploring René Derouin’s work and quest for identity | November 4 at 7 PM; November 11 and 12 at 5:30 PM.

  • Double Feature: Partita for 8 Voices and Jardin oublié | An immersion into the vocal world of Roomful of Teeth, set to music by Caroline Shaw, followed by a dreamlike garden brought to life by Vivaldi’s Summer, performed by Les Violons du Roy | November 5 at 5:30 PM; November 10 at 7 PM.

  • −22.7 °C | A sensory journey driven by the cracking of glaciers and the sounds of Arctic ice, recorded in Greenland by French musician Molécule | November 6 at 5:30 PM; November 13 at 7 PM.

  • Harmonielehre | The OSM, conducted by Kent Nagano, immerses audiences in a visual universe inspired by the music of John Adams | November 7 at 5:30 PM; November 11 at 7 PM.

  • Les Frontières de l’infini | An exploration of the brain and the cosmos, guided by Katie Paterson’s reflections and narrated by Karine Vanasse | November 10 at 5:30 PM; November 12 at 7 PM.

  • Résonances boréales | Immersive Performance | A live piano performance by Roman Zavada beneath the northern lights of the Northwest Territories | November 14 at 5:30 PM and 7 PM.

Rêveries d'un routier solitaire
Reveries of the Solitary Trucker is a 43-minute immersive film inviting audiences into the inner life of the man who so eloquently chronicled Québec and its inhabitants. Serge Bouchard experienced, explored, and connected with the land like no other. His words carry you, move you, and inspire you along the way.
Territoires des Amériques
The multidisciplinary artist René Derouin celebrated his 80th birthday and surpassed 60 years of artistic practice in 2016. These two milestones serve as a pretext for his dense body of work to be explored through an immersive film, projected 360 degrees in a dome for approximately 40 minutes. Derouin Remodeled reconnects with the key places of his journey.
Partita For 8 Voices
Partita for 8 Voices is an immersive film that takes us on a journey where the voices of eight singers generate notes, which generate images, which generate art, which generate life.
Jardin oublié
Users walk through a dreamlike garden where everything seems extinguished and gradually bring the musicians of Les Violons du Roy to life around them. As Summer from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons plays, the garden slowly comes back to life.

Alone in Greenland, electronic music producer Molécule captured the sounds of the Arctic to compose his latest work. -22.7°C takes spectators on a journey to the very source of musical creation.
Harmonielehre
Harmonielehre takes us deep into the work of American composer John Adams! Thanks to the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal’s recording, conducted by Kent Nagano at the Maison symphonique, we are transported into an imaginary world—somewhere between the composer’s subconscious and the grandeur of a fulldome experience.
Les Frontières de l’infini
Frontiers of Infinity explores the mysterious quest for human knowledge. To understand the infinity of the cosmos, we also need to understand the most precious tool at the heart of all exploration: our brains. This immersive film, both instructive and poetic, links space exploration and neuroscience by meeting physicists and neuroscientists pushing back the boundaries of knowledge.

Beneath the Northwest Territories' northern lights, let yourself be carried away by the mesmerizing piano of Roman Zavada during an immersive live performance in the Satosphere.
