A Club SAT diving into the roots of electroclash and paying tribute to its pioneers, with DJ Hell, an iconic figure of the international electronic scene, Montreal’s electro legend DJ Mini, and Sierra.
Visionary producer and founder of the International Deejay Gigolo Records label, DJ Hell delivers sets blending techno, electro, and new wave influences, all shaped by the dark and elegant aesthetic of the electroclash he helped define. Since the 1990s, he has been exploring the boundaries between techno, new wave, and punk attitude, while developing an artistic approach that goes beyond traditional DJing. Straddling club culture and contemporary art, his performances combine dancefloor energy, aesthetic reflection, and sonic power.
Alongside him, Montreal artist DJ Mini dives into raw electro infused with electroclash, krautrock, EBM, and industrial influences, with a selection of timeless tracks that have travelled across decades and defined the DNA of the underground. As for Sierra, she brings transcendent sets blending nostalgic indie dance with avant-garde sounds.
A night of discovery for newcomers, and a return to the roots for the longtime listeners.
Helmut Geier, internationally known as DJ Hell, has not only established himself as a style-defining figure in the electronic music scene, but over the past decades has become a key player at the intersection of subculture, pop, and high culture. He is a pioneering figure who bridges club culture and contemporary art. Emerging in the 1990s, he shaped the Electroclash movement through his label International Deejay Gigolo Records, blending new wave, punk attitude, and techno aesthetics. Beyond DJing, his work explores sound design, visual art, and political commentary. Collaborations such as Meese x Hell – Gesamtklärwerk Deutschland with Jonathan Meese reflect his interest in technopolitical and conceptual art. Inspired by Kraftwerk—whom he describes as a futuristic manifesto—Hell treats music as both sound and idea. His productions function not only as tracks but as cultural statements, positioning him at the intersection of subculture, pop, and high art.
Evelyne Drouin is an uncategorizable interdisciplinary artist whose distinctive approach to sound has earned her international recognition under the name DJ Mini. While rooted in sound design, her work extends across art direction, multimedia production, fashion, and choreography. Evelyne released two full-length albums—Audio Hygiene (2006) and Espace Temps (2012)—alongside numerous DJ sets, remixes, and live performances, collaborating with artists such as Margie Gillis and Jorane. Her multimedia project Espace Temps, presented at the Satosphere, combined choreography, live music, and spatialized sound in a groundbreaking immersive installation.
Through both her appreciation for the past and curiosity of the future, Sierra explores various subgenres beneath the indie dance umbrella in an attempt to intertwine nostalgia with innovative sounds. Whether she’s performing at intimate underground events or larger festival stages, her infectious energy and passion always translate onto the dancefloor.
