A night blending bass, club, techno, house, and broken beat co-presented by the Montreal collective Ether, featuring Sister Zo, somebody3lse, and MIASALAV b2b Runa.
Driven by a vision of the dancefloor as a space for connection and collective energy, Ether transforms the dome into a playground for bass music in all its forms. From Brooklyn, Sister Zo brings her arsenal of hybrid, unpredictable rhythms spanning UK bass, techno, and psychedelic house, while somebody3lse injects deconstructed rhythms and deep basslines inherited from the 90s London sound systems and pirate radio culture. In a b2b set, Ether co-founders MIASALAV and Runa join forces, weaving bass and dub frequencies together with razor-sharp precision.
Zoey Shopmaker, aka Sister Zo, is a Brooklyn-based DJ and producer carving out a distinct space across UK bass, techno, and house. After launching her career in Kansas City, she co-founded the UN/TUCK queer and trans collective and label, building it into an internationally recognized platform. Since then, she has released standout EPs Screw Cheek (Scuffed Recordings) and Freak Shift (3024), while performing at key venues and events such as The Bunker NY, Nowadays, and Honcho Campout. Her sets are known for their intensity and fluidity, blending percussive bass, broken beat, and club-driven energy.
somebody3lse
somebody3lse brings an element of surprise to their sets, weaving together a wide range of deconstructed rhythms and bass-heavy sounds. They grew up in Islington, London where local sound systems in streets and parks were an early source of inspiration. Their DJing career took off in 1990 when they began a residency on Rave FM pirate radio. somebody3lse thrives on delighting and surprising music lovers on the dancefloor and over the airwaves as a co-host of the monthly show Rhizomatic on CKUT 90.3fm. As a co-founder of moodswings they organise events that recognise the shifting moods and emotions in music and their role in human expression and emotional release.
A new addition to the Montreal scene is one of Toronto’s most versatile selectors, MIASALAV. Her commanding sets—seamlessly weaving bass, techno, club, house, and everything in between—demonstrate her expansive musical range. Drawing from her roots as a hip hop dancer, she infuses her sets with infectious rhythms, masterfully controlling the energy of the dance floor. She is deeply immersed in multiple facets of the dance music scene—as a producer with releases on several international compilations such as Aanjel, Air Texture, and Wavawava, and also as a driving force behind the scenes. Over the years, she has collaborated with various collectives as an event curator, and most recently co-created Ether, a bass music event series spotlighting FLINTA* artists.
Known for her bass-driven sound, Runa weaves low-end, deep, dubby frequencies with rhythmically intricate textures. Her sets move between weight and momentum, drawing from a wide spectrum of genres to keep the floor shifting and alert. She strives to craft sets that are dynamic and unpredictable. For Runa, DJing is a way of shaping sound and movement into shared, embodied moments. She sees the dance floor as a space for presence, connection, and collective energy. Runa is also a co-founder of Ether, a femme-led bass collective spotlighting contemporary and diasporic sound system influences while curating inclusive, movement-centred dance floor spaces.
