JEU(X) DE LUMIÈRES
As part of its 30th anniversary, the SAT and artist Marie LeBlanc Flanagan present an immersive, collaborative installation that transforms Place de la Paix into an interactive playground.
Conceived as a shared experience, beams of light animate the concrete paving stones, inviting the public to play. The installation evolves in response to participants’ movements and interactions through a motion-tracking system developed at the SAT.
Developed through a co-creation process, the project was created in collaboration with community organizations and people experiencing vulnerability. Jeu(x) de lumières is designed as a welcoming space for connection and exchange, open to everyone who lives in, visits, or passes through Place de la Paix.
By bringing digital art into the public realm and collaborating with the local community, the installation highlights the importance of creating opportunities for connection in the heart of Montréal’s Quartier des spectacles.
