Roller Dance is back at the SAT for a special Halloween edition! On October 25, grab your skates, your boldest costumes and your best moves as Espace SAT transforms into a dancefloor on wheels.

For the occasion, Fly Lady Di will take over the Roller Dance soundtrack for the very first time. A multidisciplinary artist and DJ with over twenty years of experience, she draws from hip-hop, R&B, soulful house and dancehall to keep the dancefloor moving across genres.

Fé will transform the space with her visual creations, while Marilyn Basbous, founder of Skate with Marly, will be there to get you dancing on four wheels, whether you’re taking your first spins or you’re already a roller pro.

The only rule: come in costume! Creatures of the night, disco divas, movie characters, completely over-the-top looks : anything goes.

*Please note that your reservation is valid for the session you have chosen only.

*Roller rentals available in limited quantities online via the ticket office and available for pick-up on the day of the event – please note that there will not be any on-site rentals without prior reservation. A liability waiver form must be signed at the time of purchase.

*A high volume of visitors may occur due to skate rentals and the mandatory coat check; we recommend allowing extra time upon arrival to ensure a smooth entry.

Marilyn Basbous / Marly

Marilyn Basbous is a roller dancer, founder and creative behind “Skate with Marly”. Currently, Marly and her team offer roller dance classes in Montréal to all skate enthusiasts and help them gain confidence grooving on quad skates. They also perform shows, host roller dance events, as well as skate bootcamps with key-players in the roller dance industry.

Fly Lady Di

Fly Lady Di (Diana Reyes) is a Toronto-born renaissance woman known for her work as a painter, dancer and DJ active for over twenty years. She's spun for Dior, Tiffany & Co., Twitter, Bastid’s BBQ (Toronto), Jay-Z's D'Usse Cognac, Red Bull Dance, Rihanna's Fenty, Toronto Maple Leafs and Just For Laughs to name a few. She credits most of her musical tastes to her dancing days in New York City's early 2000s where she rocked the industry and the underground House clubs. Di is an open format DJ but claims golden era Hip-Hop and R&B as her specialty as well as Soulful House and Classic Dancehall.

Fé

Fé is a visual artist specializing in moving image, film and performance (VJ). For her, creating art means blending into one's environment through movement and music. She does this by deconstructing cultures and hierarchical genres, which is why she always works with nature and technology through innovative analog and digital composition techniques.

Please note that your reservation is valid for the session you have chosen only.

If you book for both sessions, you’ll have to go through the ticket scan again at the start of the second session (Espace SAT will be emptied in between).

What kind of skates can I bring?

Skates to be brought in must be “quad” or 4-wheeled.
In-line skates will be refused for safety reasons.

I don't have any skates, what can I do?

Two options:

Pre-book your skates when you buy your tickets (quantities are limited), our partner Jay’s roller will bring them to you and payment will be due on the day
Rent them at Low Life (Rosemont) and bring them to the event!

**Please note that skates will not be available on site without prior reservation via the box office.
