Sugar rush is a luminous interlude where gourmet pleasure becomes an art of living... and a joyful return to the pleasures of childhood.
Presented as part of Futurs Antérieurs, the festival celebrating the SAT’s 30th anniversary, this event is part of a program that brings together memory, nostalgia, and contemporary creation.
For one Saturday morning, coffee and pastries come together in a playful and generous spirit. SAT pastry chef Catherine Lépine-Lafrance, coffee roaster Gabriel Martial (Jungle), and the trio of Loïc Bensoussan, Clémence Lafitte, and Léa Manseur (Maison Bonbec x Daddy Roll) reinterpret these classics with sensitivity, blending sweet memories, comforting textures, and creative flair. The event will also mark the launch of the coffee celebrating the SAT’s 30th anniversary.
Conceived as a gourmet playground, the event invites visitors to explore, taste, and marvel. Tastings, custom creations, and artisanal discoveries come together alongside creative booths for all ages, including interactive drawing areas and arts-and-crafts activities.
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Café SAT, the atmosphere is lively and colorful, fueled by curiosity and the joy of discovery. We take the time to savor it all, like a Saturday morning that stretches on and on.
Rush de sucre is a gathering for the curious, food lovers, early risers, families, and everyone who still has a taste for simple, sweet, and shared pleasures.

Catherine Lépine-Lafrance
Catherine Lépine-Lafrance was born on a small, self-sufficient farm. Amid the rows of asparagus, on the path to the sugar shack, or while scraping honeycombs, she learned at a very young age what would become the guiding principle for everything that followed: making things herself, by hand, with the aim of sharing. It was after an internship with Hirsinger, a MOF chocolatier and confectioner from the Jura region (France), that her idea came to life. Over the next 15 years, thousands of pounds of sugar would be transformed with the patience and precision required to realize this vision. Freshly arrived at the Society for Arts and Technology, Catherine creates a menu where the seasons set the pace and where every dish celebrates the simple pleasure of transforming what nature offers us.
JUNGLE
JUNGLE, founded by Gabriel Martial, aims to make specialty coffee accessible to everyone. To take people on a journey with this magnificent product from faraway lands. To ensure that coffee drinkers are aware of and grateful for the love and sacrifice that goes into bringing this product from the farm to our homes. JUNGLE wants to offer a unique experience with every sip of coffee.
Maison Bonbec and Daddy Roll are now run in Montreal by three partners: Loïc Bensoussan, Clémence Lafitte, and Léa Manseur. Founded in 2020 by Loïc, Maison Bonbec showcases Lyon’s pink praline. Joined by Clémence and Léa, they developed Daddy Roll together, a shop that has become a must-visit spot in just a few months. The trio offers generous brioches, inspired by family traditions and reimagined with a North American twist. Their artisanal approach, family spirit, and close connection with customers create a warm and sincere experience.
