Learn how to design collective artworks in which audiences move from spectators to co-creators.
What is collective interaction? Collective interaction focuses on artistic practices where moving bodies become the primary interface. Whether through the movement of a crowd within an installation, a public space, or a performance, these interactions transform the visual and sonic environment of a work in real time. This approach creates a fluid and intuitive dialogue between people and a peformance environment, while redefining the very sense of gathering.
This training is intended for artists and cultural professionals who wish to deepen their installation practice by integrating computer vision as well as motion capture and tracking systems to their artistic processes.
Through a combination of theoretical presentations and hands-on exercises, this training will guide you through the various formats and setups of collective interaction, help you develop audience driven scenarization strategies, and strengthen your skills in the design, development, and prototyping of interactive artworks.
