A longtime fixture of Detroit's club scene, DJ Minx is often referred to as the First Lady of Wax. Her mix sets as well as her productions range from deep and minimal to boisterous and funky, and she's earned respect throughout the techno and house scenes. Active as a DJ since the early 1990s, she formed the Women on Wax collective and label, and started releasing tracks in the early 2000s, scoring an underground hit with the 2003 minimal house track "A Walk in the Park." She continued honing her craft over the years and has received widespread recognition since the 2010s.
Rooted in Miami's B-boy culture, Danny Daze has become a figure synonymous with an innovative spirit. Influenced by the Dutch electro and Detroit techno scenes of the 90s, he places great importance on exploring and pushing musical boundaries. With his label Omnidisc, Daze focuses on raw and unpolished music that stands out for its authenticity. His approach as a DJ and producer defies conventional genre boundaries, navigating through electro, techno, and Italo Disco, demonstrating versatility and a penchant for surprise. Daze's work ranges from vibrant techno tracks to creating soundtracks for fashion brands, highlighting his obsession with detailed audio manipulation and innovation.
Ayesha is a key player in Brooklyn's dance music scene, and has become one of NYC's most prominent names when it comes to faster, more-bass heavy sounds in New York. Her approach to DJing and production blends elements of America's techno underground with leftfield UK sounds and diasporic influences from her Indian heritage. Her music, hypnotic, pulsating and powerful, is as at home at a deep forest festival as it is a sweaty basement or dark nightclub, made with meticulous sound design, spongy textures and alien melodies.
Brussels-based Mika Oki is a polymath of the arts, seamlessly blending her background in sculpture and electro-acoustic music to craft experiences that defy conventional boundaries. Whether she's captivating audiences on the airwaves or igniting dance floors, Oki’s sonic palette traverses genres with an effortless grace, showcasing a penchant for UK sounds like drum and bass, UK garage, 2-step, and grime. Her eclectic mixes effortlessly blend nostalgic dance anthems with obscure gems, weaving together disparate elements into a tapestry of sonic coherence that never fails to astonish.
As a DJ, Laurence Matte finds her creative joy in contrasts. Her mature yet inconspicuous sound resists big drops and instead opts for steamy dubs, percussive grooves, and expected rhythms that have transfixed crowds everywhere from Piknic Électronik in her native Montréal to Heart in Ibiza, Art With Me in Tulum and Teksupport in New York. She makes people dance to music they don't know, and conjures familiar feelings with unfamiliar sounds. Her long and winding DJ sets are fluid and responsive trips that are often slow-burning.
Artist, producer and DJ Raphaël Valensi embarked on his Nahash adventure in 2013 while in Shanghai, releasing electronic music inspired by metal on his own label Huashan Records. Nahash left the Chinese mega-city in 2017 to settle in Montréal, though he continued to work with Shanghai’s independent label SVBKVLT. Nahash is emerging as an emblematic figure on the Montreal alternative scene. His music, both experimental and immersive, promises a sonic journey, captivating audiences and transporting them into an atmosphere where creativity reigns.
Having found love for the Montréal DIY rave community by helping at renegade raves, Jade (They/He) developed a hyper-fixation for Djing. Obsessed with digging tracks then superposing and blending them on the decks, Jade is motivated by the desire of understanding the movements of energy within dancefloors and curating spontaneous but thought of sound landscapes. Focusing mainly on the percussive complexity of techno and bass music, they seek to channel their energy in the purest form possible. Getting inspired everyday by their peers and seeking to constantly learn new ways to reinvent and morph their own style.
Beginning her career in the fabled YOTA DJ studio, Wencat combines her love for the 90s rave scene and her personal post-COVID raving experience to push modern yet classic sounds. A passionate lover of all things electronic music, she’s known for her abundant RYM knowledge and mind-bogglingly diverse music taste, particularly in experimental electronica.
Musician, visual artist, label owner, and software developer, Montreal-based Axel Helios is involved in various aspects of audiovisual creation. He explores the concept of interactivity, either through installations or by allowing the audience to take control of certain aspects of his performances. His work primarily revolves around the idea of atmospheres and sound design rather than strict rules of musical genres, all the while understanding and subverting them.
With a filmmaker's perspective on visual themes and narrative, Diagraf combines minimalist aesthetics and complex evolving graphics with emotive cinematic content. Keenly attuned to the sounds of the musicians and producers he works with, Diagraf often creates new content inspired by their music, working a bit like a filmmaker in reverse, as he edits his live images while the musical performance unfolds.
Enhancing raves with their DIY light bar installations, Fantasy seamlessly bridges the worlds of the auditory and the visual to bring you a truly unforgettable and blissful dancefloor experience. A technicolor dream for your pleasure.
