It's brave to resist the crowd's lust for a big drop or obvious track, but that's what Laurence Matte does when she casts a spell on the dance floor on her own terms. She finds creative joy in contrasts. She explores the unexpected, makes people dance to music they don't know, and conjures familiar feelings with unfamiliar sounds. Her long and winding DJ sets are fluid and responsive trips that are often slow-burning. Genres become blurred as she threads together steamy jungle dubs, psyched-out and percussive grooves and loose-limbed rhythms.
Liv K aka okleave (they/them) plays with their heart first and their head second. For them, every set is an experiment in feeling, an attempt to find the horizon line where dj soul and dancer body might meet.
Through her tireless involvement in the DIY circuit, kiju has naturally emerged as a mainstay in Montreal’s underground electronic music scene as a DJ, organizer, and dancefloor specialist. Behind the decks, kiju has been noticed for her genre-spanning range and careful selections that focus on finding a groove, sometimes through more subtle rhythms and textures. As a core organizer of the notable @layer05_ series and a regular name on bills across various local dancebars, kiju’s taste knows no limits when it comes to tempos, styles, and moods.
Vayia is part of a new wave of artists shaping the dancefloor through a genre-fluid approach rooted in house. Known for her ability to read a room with precision, her sets move intuitively across sounds, balancing groove, tension, and subtle evolution.
