Dive into a night where dub, bass and sound system vibrations collide. Adrian Sherwood — UK underground dub legend and founder of the iconic On-U Sound label — is coming to the SAT for his Live Dub Sessions tour, marking his first-ever live tour in North America.
Opening the night is Honeydrip, a key figure in Montréal’s electronic scene, who will set the tone from 10PM. A DJ and producer embodying the very essence of sound system and local rave culture, she’ll raise the temperature with enveloping bass, atmospheric dub, and reimagined dancehall rhythms.
Adrian Sherwood’s new Live Dub show will see him on stage with a mixing desk and his signature effects, creating live dub mixes from his original tracks. This is a full On-U Sound production, spotlighting music from his new solo album The Collapse of Everything, as well as recent tracks from his collaborations with Lee “Scratch” Perry, Horace Andy, Sonic Boom x Panda Bear, and Spoon, and other On-U classics.
This hypnotic, cinematic live set will be accompanied by psychedelic visuals from his long-time collaborator, Peter Harris.
As founder of the legendary On-U Sound label, Adrian Sherwood formed and produced a stable of artists such as African Head Charge, New Age Steppers, Dub Syndicate, Creation Rebel and Tackhead, and also produced or remixed everyone from The Slits to Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode to The Fall and Blur to Einstürzende Neubauten. In addition to recent work with indie artists such as Spoon and Panda Bear & Sonic Boom, who both separately hand-picked Sherwood to reconstruct recent studio albums, he has also enjoyed recent success producing late career renaissances on his own On-U label - Rainford by Lee “Scratch” Perry hit number 1 on the Billboard Reggae chart, whilst Midnight Rocker by Horace Andy was crowned The Guardian’s #1 Global album of the year.
Honeydrip has been a notable name in the Montreal underground electronic scene for a decade.
