Dana Ruh

Through the warm currents of deep house to the sharp delineations of minimal techno, Dana Ruh approaches the dancefloor with marked precision, finely weaving together buoyant percussion, refined textures, and deep, rolling basslines. Known for versatility and driving momentum, her live performances evolve steadily, suspended in the delicate state between hypnotic flow and motion-inducing levity.

Matthew Herbert & Julian Sartorius

Two idiosyncratic improvisers meet in Drum Solo, an introspective dialogue between Swiss drummer Julian Sartorius and British experimental producer Matthew Herbert. Intricate, multilayered rhythms crafted on Sartorius’ collection of drums, percussion instruments, and augmented objects become the raw material for Herbert’s real-time electronic processing, as the pair craft a dense sonic atmosphere through their uniquely imaginative approaches.

Purelink with Mika Oki

Brooklyn-via-Chicago trio Purelink and visual artist Mika Oki join forces for the North American premiere of a new audio-visual collaboration. Starting in slow, the performance gradually locks into a cohesive whole as Purelink’s dubbed ambiance, experimental rhythms, and atmospheric electronica dissolve into the glow of Oki’s hazy, incandescent visual universe.

ebb

Nazar

From incisive grit to subdued ambience, Nazar’s rough kuduro charts the tension between self-preservation and surrender. Mutating rhythms, drifting vocals, and splintering sound structures echo the emotional upheaval and fragility of transformative experience.

Poirier

Distinctly warm and deeply rhythm-rooted, Poirier’s genre-crossing sound has marked Montréal for nearly three decades. This summer, he returns to the album that started it all, bringing the sparse ambience and laid-back grooves of 2001’s Il n’y a pas de Sud… to the MUTEK dancefloor for its first live interpretation.
